is this a legal taekwondo dojo?

SO i have being training in this itf taekwondo dojo for about a half a year now and its pretty good. The head instructor is pretty strict and would disciple the student if they are not paying attetion, fooling around and stuff he gives a warning first before punishing it he makes u do pushups around 50least some times if you don’t answer back at his punishment(like say yes sir) he would make you do another 50 also sometimes he would kick people out of his class either thier being rude disrespectful only if its more than 3 times in a class .
Oh there are no black belt clubs or contract the price is ok 75 dollars a month but it would be cheaper if u buy 3month 6month or a year at a time 2 class per week around 45minutes. The instructors would show us the technique that hes teacher to us carefully like every class also he would tell his to listen kick harder faster and stuff.Oh when we`re sparring he would always tell us to use the combos that he taught us to use it on our opponents.I do see people that are black belt that are younger than 16 but the men has to pay the bills and usually the younger black belts are age fromt 12-15 and yes people do fail tests

here are links to vidoe tour http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pxcv-2kuRE&feature=related

Benefits of being short when sparring?

I do Taekwondo & I am wondering what are some helpfull tips when sparring a taller person? I am 5”3 so I am not too terriably short but I am always sparring against tall people whose legs seem like miles long! Does anyone know a way to

1) manage to kick taller people around the head without getting knocked down first?
2) tips to help me spar better against taller people?
3) Or any benefits of being shorter?

~I am Testing for my next belt in a few days & want to make sure I do my best.
I have been doing this for awhile…a few years. So it isn’t like I am new at this. I am just trying to improve. Nothing wrong with that…

easy home workouts?

Ok, so i dont want to say im skinny, but im deff not chubby, im just sorta normal in a sence, Now my delema is that i want two major things with my body, i want to have abs, not the kind that are like BULGING out, but hte ones that you can see the outlines of, that look really nice, (that includes chest too) and i want larger arms, right now my upper arms dont have any muscular curve to them, they just sorta go straight, i would love to get some arm muscle in to fill out my t-shirts for the summer, and just all around look better.
Detais about me are that im 15, turning 16 in just under 3 months, i had 6.5 years of martial arts training so strange workouts arent hard for me (and you think after all that i would have muscle haha(curently quit karate tho)), and weigh about 150 pounds(5’10"). What would be some ab and arm(&chest) workouts that i can do at home WITHOUT ANY WORKOUT EQUIPMENT!!!. And on what days should i work the different muscles?? Btw, im fine as far as my legs go :)
also if possible, add the amount of reps i should do, and when should i increase the reps. Thanks!!

Please help? I need a plan toning plan..?

okay, so im 12. I just moved to a new school.. I’m about 5’8 180 pounds.. My voice is in the process of changing, so i get teased fer that.. & im also a bit overweight. I would like to loose 30 or 40 pounds. so if anyone could give me a good weight loss program that would really help! :) i’d also really appreciate a good at home martial arts type program? Something that improves fighting skills? I would also like to work on my abs & triceps but that’s another question. So here’s the workout equipment i have at hand. I have a exercise ball; a few dumbbells i think they’re 2 two pounders, 2 five pounders and 2 ten pounders..
Thanks for all the help! :)

Recommendations for sparring shoes?

I’ve been getting into martial arts more seriously than I have before and realized that it would be a good idea to get some foot gear. If been looking through a lot of stuff but not sure what I want to get. I looked at some adidas TKD shoes, but while they may give protection to my own feet, they don’t look like they’ll do much for my sparring partner. I want to find something that is a good medium between my own protection and my sparring partner’s. Of course, comfort is also a factor.
Maybe I would be looking more for an instep guard such as this? Has anyone had experience using these?

I decided I need something more along the lines of an instep guard rather than a shoe. I decided I will give these a try. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B001735E7I/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A1KVO0N5W6043I&v=glance

Thanks for the input. :)

Please help me with an awesome Father's Day Gift for my dad..?

I know that Father’s Day is like, a month away still. But I’ve bought my mom quite a few wonderful gifts over the years, including a new bicycle (she’s wanted one for years now) for Mother’s Day this year. I really would love to buy something fantastic for my dad this Father’s Day, but he’s so hard to shop for. Some facts about him:

-he’s a plant manager machinist & work-a-holic
-he rides a Honda Goldwing motorcycle
-he likes martial arts and is a non-practicing black belt
-he isn’t into sports at ALL (other than martial arts)
-he carves as a hobby
-he is a fisherman (but doesn’t hunt)
-he has a huge workshop, so buying tools is just out of the question
-he’s really intelligent but doesn’t like a lot of "technical" things like computers or cell phones other than the basic operation (he has a computer and a cell phone)
-he plays guitar and has the exact guitar he wants and it’s acoustic (so other equipment is pretty much out)
-he adores his wife & 2 grandkids
I didn’t have room in the question to say that a hot air balloon ride is something that I planned for my mom’s 50th birthday, but they both backed out of it at the last minute, so I can’t do that for a gift.

Drug-resistant staph deaths may pass AIDS! Are you aware of this new "Strain",what precautions will you Take?

I am becoming more & more concerned about this "Front Page News Story"
Several wrestling, football, and other sports teams have fallen victim to this "Superbug"
With the huge popularity in BJJ and other ground skill arts,I predict this may become a very big problem for many students.
Findings are that even sharing equipment and casual skin to skin contact passes this strain of Drug-resistant Staph from person to person.
Below are some links to inform you of this new danger to athletes and team sports players.

Why Do Most UFC Fans Diss Bruce Lee?

I find it kind of odd that some UFC fans talk crap about Bruce Lee. They say this UFC fighter & that UFC fighter could take Bruce Lee. They say he was an actor not a fighter. If you watch his training and practice footage you can see he works hard! Didn’t he invent mixed martial arts? Wouldn’t there be no UFC without him?

will using this equipment help me lose weight and tone up???
