Martial Arts Club
Help picking Martial Arts discipline?
Ok I want to join a Martial Arts club. In my town I have several to choose from. I have Taekwando, Kickboxing, Combat Hapkido, Kuk Sool won, Jeet Kun Do, Youn Wha Ryu.
I have no martial arts experience, I am 28 in good shape and looking for something to give me some discipline and useable fighting skills. Any suggestions for this begineer?
Thanks

Naming a martial arts club?
Hello, first question, here it goes.
I am debating how to name my martial arts club and would like some opinions on the thinking behind it.
I am a third degree black belt in both taekwondo and judo and intend to implement the teaching of both alongside each other, rather than seperately within the same club, my problem is:
The same instructor teaching more than one style at a club is something that often comes up here as a flag of a mcdojo but I can not think of a legitimate way of naming what I am teaching as an individual style.
Seeing as both in essence are modern traditional style martial arts with origins in Japan, where both would have been taught in line with something matching the other, I don’t personaly have a problem with using a japanese name and teaching them as one thing, so long as it does not claim a direct lineage as such. I do however see many people having an issue with it and being potential fuel for flaming from those who do not know me or my club.
Discuss, advise and suggest as needed, I want the opinions even if they are don’t do it.
*edit – I already teach both at different clubs and have done for several years, I have also specifically saught tuition and advice from instructors in other styles regarding how to mesh the two together and fill in gaps.
What type of exercises should I engage in to prepare for the martial arts?
When the semester starts, I plan to join the mixed martial arts club. I’m incredibly out of shape and I’d like to put myself in a better standing before joining. I don’t want to join martial arts for the mere sake of fitness. I want to be more disciplined and probably in the future fight competitively. I also plan to join the Kendo club as well. Useful advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Please and thank you.
starting a martial arts club?
i had this idea to start a martial arts club at my college. im a kickboxer but im hoping to attract some people with various backgrounds and more trained than me. that way everybody can put in some knowledge and it would all be free. we can spar outside at the park or on the campus field. do you think this is a good idea or no?
Is there any club vs club type of networks for martial arts?
Preferably Taekwondo. Excluding MMA; UFC, Strikeforce, etc, but similar to just not mixed martial arts?

Why would you choose a traditional martial art if you could do boxing, kickboxing or mma?
The amateur boxing club where I train shares the community hall with various traditional martial arts clubs, my question is why would anyone bother to train in a traditional martial arts club when they could do boxing, kickboxing or mma?
In my experience traditional martial arts suck (i trained taekwondo for 3 years) whereas boxing etc are very effective.
